Well done to our new starts who made a fantastic start today. Buddies were on hand to support at breaktimes.
I’m looking forward to our new session and welcoming back all our staff, pupils and parents for new adventures at Middleton Park School. This is the first time we have re-visited a whole school context and I’ve enjoyed looking at the blog we created three years ago around Wars. I know our pupils will take their learning in new directions around the context of Wars and that creativity, the outdoors, pupil led learning and a buzz of excitement will fill the school. We’ve been invited to share our curriculum model at upcoming Education Scotland events which will be a privilege to do.
A very sad farewell to Mrs Struthers who is retiring after 38 years at Middleton Park School. She has been an inspirational teacher and it has been a privilege to have worked with her over my time as Head Teacher here. She is an outstanding practitioner and manages to bring out the very best from her pupils. Her bubbly personality has ensured our staff room has always been filled with laughter, stories and her quick wit.
Our programme of visits for our new P1 pupils have included classroom visits, Wee Green Spaces outdoor learning, Open Mornings and visits from our staff to our partner nurseries. Today our new pupils and their parents met their older buddies and enjoyed a tour of the school – pupil led ofcourse! Thank you all – looking forward to next session!
